CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
CKT 149 is used to complete the electrical circuit for the courtesy lamp system. CKT 149 is grounded by the CCM when the CCM gets a request to activate the roof rail and door courtesy lamps.
DTC WILL SET WHEN
The CCM is trying to ground CKT 149 stays high. The CCM tests for a short to B+ in CKT 149 when the ignition is first turned to "RUN." If any of the above lasts longer than 2 seconds, DTC 24 will set.
ACTION TAKEN
DTC 24 is set. If CKT 149 is shorted to battery, the courtesy lamps will not come "ON" as intended.
DTC WILL CLEAR WHEN
DTC 24 will clear if fault goes away for 2 or more seconds.
DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. This test checks for a short to B+ in courtesy lamp system wiring or CCM.
2. This test determines if short is in CKT 149 or 823.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may, be intermittent. Refer to "Intermittents/History DTCs". Intermittents/History DTCs
A Tech 1 can be used to activate the DIL relay.
