CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

If a DTC 46 is set, it means that the CCM microprocessor has detected an internal short to ground inside the CCM. No repair for this fault can be performed in the field, expect to replace the CCM.

DTC WILL SET WHEN

DTC 46 will set if the CCM detects an internal CCM short to ground, whenever the ignition is turned to "RUN," that lasts longer than 2 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN

DTC 46 will set. CCM can become inoperative.

DTC WILL CLEAR WHEN

DTC 46 will clear if fault goes away for 2 or more seconds.

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION

Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.

1. This tests has you clear DTCs and recheck for DTC 46.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS

If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may be intermittent to the CCM microprocessor. Make sure CCM "C1" connector terminal "B5" has no wire to it.
