Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights
PROCEDURENOTE: Check for CCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) 22, 23, 24 and 25. If one or more of these codes are set, repair them first. Refer to Diagnostic Charts under Computers and Controls, Procedures.
1. Check I/P Fuse 14. If I/P Fuse 14 is open, check CKT 839 for short to ground.
2. Check I/P Fuse 18. If I/P Fuse 18 is open, check for short to ground in CKT 441.
3. Check that grounds G200, G201, G207 and G400 are clean and tight.
4. If Cigar Lighter(s) is inoperative, check I/P Fuses 28 and 29.
5. If Trunk Lamp is inoperative, check I/P Fuse 26.
6. Check I/P Fuse 34. If I/P Fuse 34 is open, check for open in CKT 2140.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check. These circuits maybe intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
