Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch is normally open and will close when the power steering fluid pressure is high, such as when the vehicle is in a parking maneuver.

OPERATION
When the switch closes, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will increase idle speed to compensate for the additional load.
