REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM (RKE)
The remote keyless entry system can also arm and disarm the Universal Theft Deterrent (UTD) System. When the RKE module lock the doors it simulates a door being opened and then closed by momentarily grounding the UTD modules tamper input. The RKE module applies battery voltage to the theft modules system arm input when it locks the doors. Once the doors are locked the RKE module opens it automatic door lock inhibit, this simulates the doors being closed and completes the arming procedure.
