Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights With Illuminated Entry
TRY FOLLOWING CHECKS BEFORE DOING SYSTEM CHECK1. Check Trunk Compartment Fuse Block Fuses B1, C1, C3 and C5 by visual inspection.
2. If Cigarette Lighter(s) is inoperative, check Trunk Compartment Fuse Block Fuse C7.
3. Check that grounds G301, G303, G304, G305, G400, G401 and G402 are clean and tight.
4. If only one lamp does not light, check bulb, socket and related wiring (see schematic).
5. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
6. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
7. Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and inline harness connector terminal connections.
