^ Tools Required:
- J 3289-20 Holding Fixture
- J 34013-47 Template
- J 34013-B Strut Compressor
- J 34013-20 Clamp
- J 34013-38 Guiding Rod

DISASSEMBLE

NOTICE: Care should be taken to avoid scratching or cracking the spring coating when handling the front suspension coil spring. Damage can cause premature failure.

1. Strut assembly in strut compressor.
2. Turn compressor forcing screw until spring compresses slightly.
3. Hold dampener shaft from turning using a T-50 Torx wrench and remove nut on top of dampener shaft.
4. Loosen compressor screw while guiding dampener shaft out of assembly. Continue loosening compressor screw until strut dampener and spring can be removed.

ASSEMBLE

NOTICE: Care should be taken to avoid scratching or cracking the spring coating when handling the front suspension coil spring. Damage can cause premature failure.

1. Strut dampener in strut compressor J 34013-B with clamp J 34013-20 clamped on dampener shaft.
2. Spring over strut in correct position and move assembly upright in strut compressor and install upper locking pin.

Important: Flat on upper spring seat must face out from centerline of vehicle, or when mounted in strut compressor spring seat faces the same direction as steering knuckle mounting flange.

3. Start fuming compressor screw clockwise on J 34013 while centering dampener shaft in the assembly.
4. Continue to turn compressor forcing screw on strut compressor until dampener shaft threads are visible through top of strut assembly.
5. Washer and nut.
6. Remove clamp J 34013-20 from dampener shaft.
^ Tighten dampener shaft nut (using tool J 35669 at 90° to torque wrench while holding dampener shaft with a T-50 Torx wrench) 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Three nuts retaining strut assembly to strut compressor.
2. Two locking pins at bottom of strut compressor.
3. Strut assembly.
