Engine Metal Temp. Warning (Medium Chime)
When the ignition is in RUN and the engine metal temperature exceeds
150°C (302°F) the Engine Metal Temperature Switch closes and grounds terminal C1/D10 of the Instrument Panel Cluster
(IPC). In response to this input the IPC grounds terminal C1 of the Chime Module through CKT 1845 at terminal C1/D2. The Chime Module sounds the medium chime until the IPC removes ground from CKT 1845. Ground is removed from CKT 1845 (by the IPC) when the engine cools and the Engine Metal Temperature Switch opens or the ignition is turned OFF. The IPC also displays the message "STOP ENGINE-ENGINE OVERHEATED" on the
Driver Information Center in addition to grounding CKT 1845.
