DEFINITIONEngine stalls, no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are set, engine will restart immediately.
POWERTRAIN SYSTEM CHECK
Perform Chart 1 Powertrain System Check. Chart 1 Powertrain System Check
FUEL SYSTEM CHECK
Perform Chart 6C-1 Fuel System Check. Check in particular for:
^ Low Fuel Pressure
- fuel pump circuit problem
- fuel pickup problem at low fuel levels such as during deceleration or cornering maneuvers.
^ Plugged or dirty fuel filter
^ Fuel injectors
- not operating
- low flow rate
^ Idle speed control (ISC)
- binding or slow ISC motor
- sticking Throttle Position (TP) switch
- Throttle Position sensor/Idle learn not complete
- minimum idle air adjustment

IGNITION SYSTEM CHECK
Perform Chart C-1 Ignition Control Performance Test. Check in particular for:
^ Faulty ignition coil or Ignition Control (IC) module
^ Distributor and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) grounding points clean and tight

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) SYSTEM CHECK
Perform Chart 6EC-2: EGR System Check. Check in particular for:
^ Cause of EGR valve remaining open

EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS (EVAP) SYSTEM CHECK
Perform Chart 6EC-1: EVAP System Check. Check in particular for:
^ Evaporative Emissions System (EVAP) canister loaded with fuel.
^ EVAP solenoid proper operation

MECHANICAL CAUSES
Check for the following mechanical causes. Check in particular for:
^ Intermittent ignition switch or out of adjustment
^ Erratic A/C compressor clutch operation
^ Erratic power steering loads (intermittent power steering pressure switch)
^ Intermittent Park/Neutral inputs to the PCM when the transaxle is not in either Park or Neutral
