REPLACE
1. Remove center console storage compartment by pulling up and out.
2. Remove shift handle retaining clip and shift handle.
3. Remove console upper trim panel.
4. Disconnect cigarette lighter electrical connector.
5. Remove radio trim plate.
6. Remove two retaining nuts from bottom of radio control head.
7. Twist radio control head so that the right side is removed first in order to clear connectors on the left side.
8. Disconnect electrical connectors, then remove the radio.
9. Remove four console to instrument panel retaining screws.
10. Remove gear selector trim plate and PRNDL illumination lamp socket.
11. Remove two shifter plate upper mounting bolts, then the two shifter assembly to floor retaining nuts.
12. Working through the storage compartment opening, remove two console to floor retaining nuts.
13. Remove console blower air supply duct.
14. Slide console forward and disconnect electrical connectors.
15. Slide console rearward to clear shifter assembly, then remove center console.
16. Pull carpet rearward to gain access to lateral acceleration switch.
17. Disconnect lateral acceleration switch electrical connector, then remove switch from body rail, Fig. 6.
18. Reverse procedure to install.
