Programming the Driver Seat Adjuster Memory Module

When the driver seat adjuster memory module is replace, it has to be programmed. The only way to program the driver sear adjuster memory module is by using the scan tool. The following instructions are for programming the driver seat adjuster memory module:
1. Open the driver's door and leave it open.
2 Install the scan tool.
3. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
4. Retrieve the system related trouble codes.
5. If one or more trouble codes exist, diagnose and repair the system.
6. Erase the system related trouble code.
7. Initialize the system programming and follow the instructions on the scan tool.
8. Do not press any of the manual adjustment switches for the seat or the outside rear view mirrors.
9. Do not press the memory switch or any of the three position switches.

During the programming, the scan tool will display the messages that are listed below. Next to each message, a procedure is given. Follow the corresponding procedure when the message is displayed.

When the message PRESS MEMORY KEY & HOLD appears, press the memory key and hold it until the scan tool displays RELEASE ALL KEY. If the memory key is released before the scan tool displays RELEASE ALL KEYS, the programming will continue when the memory key is pressed.
