Copying PASS-Key II Ignition Keys

COPYING PASS-KEY II IGNITION KEYS






IMPORTANT: When servicing the PASS-Key II system, obtain all ignition keys if possible and verify proper values with J 35628-A.

To copy a PASS-Key II ignition key, it is necessary to first determine which key code (resistance value) is needed. To determine the key code of the original ignition key use the J 35628-A, PASS-Key II (VATS) Interrogator and follow the procedure below.
1. Turn the J 35628-A on, make sure the tool wiring connectors are disconnected.
2. Insert the key into the tool lock cylinder.
3. The key code reader will display the measured key code of the ignition key.
4. Obtain a key blank matching this key code and cut it to match the original key.
