Vehicle Damage Warnings

CAUTION:
^ This vehicle is equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR). Refer to CAUTIONS in the SIR Component and Wiring Location view in Air Bags and Seat Belts before performing service on or around SIR components or wiring. Failure to follow CAUTIONS could result in possible air bag deployment, personal Injury, or otherwise unneeded SIR system repairs.
^ Before removing or installing any electrical unit(s), disconnect the negative battery cable to help prevent personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
^ Pacemakers and other medical equipment may be affected by a mobile phone transmission. DO NOT use the telephone when any person is within 0.6 meters (two feet) of the antenna.
^ Turn off cellular telephones when refueling. Do not carry containers of fuel In the rear compartment or inside vehicle.
^ Using a cellular telephone while driving a vehicle is not advised. If calls must be initiated from a moving vehicle use caution at all times.


NOTE: Always use the correct fastener in the correct location. When you use a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application. General Motors will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. General Motors will also call out the fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and the joint clamping force, and may damage the fasteners. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems.
