Salt Spray Test
If the customer's comments reflect that the amber ABS warning indicator is on only during moist environmental changes (e.g., rain, snow, or vehicle wash), all
wheel speed sensor circuitry should be thoroughly inspected for signs of water intrusion. Clear the current DTCs, and simulate the effects of water intrusion by using the following procedure. Spray the suspected area with a 5 percent salt water solution, (e.g., two teaspoons of salt to 12 ounces of watery. Test drive the vehicle over various road surfaces (e.g., bumps, turns, etc.) above 24 km/h (15 mph) for at least 30 seconds.
