Troubleshooting Hints
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS1. Check Engine Compartment Fuse/Relay Center PARK/REV Fuse by visual inspection.
2. Check backup lamp bulbs.
3. Check that G402 is clean and tight.
4. If one backup lamp is inoperative, check for an open in LT GRN wire between S426 (DeVille) or S414 (Seville/Eldorado Export) and inoperative backup lamp or an open in BLK wire between S425 (DeVille/Eldorado) or S417 (Seville/Eldorado Export) and inoperative backup lamp.
5. Before component replacement, check that system connections are clean and tight.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction hut prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
