Fuel Filter: Description and Operation

FUEL FILTER CONSTRUCTION
An in-line filter is used in the fuel feed pipe ahead of the fuel injection system. The filter element is made of paper, and is designed to trap particles in the fuel that may damage the injection system. Quick connect type fitting are used at both ends of the filter.
