Controlled Power
Components under controlled power are supplied power through the controlled power relay. The PZM does not control the high power control output. Rather, the output is grounded whenever the PZM is awake and for 15 minutes after the ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" position. The following components are under Controlled Power:^ Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
^ Radio
^ Amplifier/Radio Interface Module (RIM)
^ Cellular Phone (PHN)
^ High Beam Relay
^ Fuel Door Release Relay
^ Trunk Release Relay
After the 15 minutes elapse, the modules enter a "sleep" state and receive any necessary power from the low power driver output of the PZM. If the PZM is in Low Power Mode and detects that the current exceeds a certain level (approximately 2.4 amps), the PZM will "wake-up" and enter the High Power Mode. If the vehicle has been left inactive (ignition in the "LOCK" position and no PZM wake-ups) for a period of 3 days, the PZM deactivates the low power driver output.
