Side Air Bag Disabling the SIR System

Remove or Disconnect

^ Remove the key from the ignition switch.
1. The SIR Fuse from the trunk compartment fuse block.
2. The LH front door panel, refer to Door Trim Panels in Doors.
3. The Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and the driver door side impact inflator module yellow 2-way connector located near the inflatable restraint Side Impact Sensing Module (SISM) in the door.
4. The RH front door panel, refer to Door Trim Panels in Doors.
5. The Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and the passenger door side impact inflator module yellow 2-way connector located near the SISM in the door.

Important
With the SIR Fuse removed and the ignition switch in the RUN position, the AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is normal operation and does not indicate a SIR system malfunction.
