REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assemblies.
3. Brake bracket retainer screw.
4. Road sensing suspension position sensor and bracket from shock tower.
5. Lower exhaust system and heat shield if replacing right side bushing.
6. Install screw jack under rear suspension support forward arm.
7. Forward arm nuts and bolts.
8. SLOWLY lower forward arm only as far as required to gain tool clearance approximately 13 cm (5 inches).

Important: While lowering suspension support, carefully watch the position of brake calipers, hoses and pipes to prevent damage during the removal procedure.

9. Install special tools.
A. Insert spacer J 35739-1 between forward arm flanges.
B. Coat the threads of J 21474-19 bolt with high pressure lubricant J 23141 A to prevent thread damage.
C. Install J 21474-23 remover, J 214745 receiver, bearing, J 2147418 nut and J 2147419 bolt.
10. Draw bushing out of forward arm by tightening nut.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Position new bushing for installation on forward arm.
A. Bushing must be installed with notches on bushing flange at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions.
B. Bushing must be installed from the outboard side of forward arm and drawn inward toward the vehicle centerline.
2. Install special tools.
A. Insert spacer J 35739-1 between forward arm flanges.
B. Coat the threads of J 21474-19 bolt with high pressure lubricant J 23141 A to prevent thread damage.
C. Install J 35739-3 installer, J 214745 receiver, bearing, J 21474-18 nut and J 21474-19 bolt.
3. Draw bushing into forward arm by tightening nut. Tighten nut until bushing flange seats firmly against arm.
4. Check upper suspension support insulators for proper positioning.
5. SLOWLY raise suspension support. Align suspension support with body as it is raised.

Important: While raising suspension support, carefully watch the position of brake calipers, hoses, and pipes. Reposition calipers, pipes and hoses as required to prevent interference or damage to brake components.

6. Suspension support forward arm bolts, nuts and washers, upper mounting bolts, and insulators.

Important:
^ Both forward arm bolts must be installed in the proper direction, with nuts installed on right side of arm.
^ The cup-shaped washer is used on the left forward arm bolt installation only.

^ Tighten:
- Right side suspension support forward arm nut to 63 Nm (46 lb ft).
- Left side suspension support forward arm bolt to 102 Nm (75 lb ft).
- Upper mounting bolts to 102 Nm (75 lb ft).
7. Remove screw jacks.
8. Exhaust system and heat shield.
9. Road sensing suspension position sensor and bracket from shock tower.
10. Brake bracket retainer screw.
11. Install wheel and tire assemblies.
^ Tighten the wheel nuts top 140 Nm (100 lb ft).
