Trunk Lid/Tailgate Release

FUEL DOOR RELEASE
Depressing the fuel door release switch provides an input signal to the instrument panel cluster (IPC). The IPC in turn supplies this signal via Class 2 data bus to the body control module (PZM). The PZM internally grounds connector C2 terminal D5, grounding CKT 93 (WHT), provided that the transaxle is in PARK position and the valet switch is closed.

Power is supplied through the RADIO/PHONE fuse, CKT 40 (ORN) and the coil of the fuel door release relay to the now-grounded CKT 93 (WHT). The relay coil energizes and closes the relay contacts.

Power is supplied from the CONVENC fuse through CKT 2G40 (ORN), the now-closed relay contacts, CKT 79 (PNK), and the fuel door release solenoid. The solenoid energizes and the fuel door latch assembly releases the fuel door.

TRUNK LID RELEASE
When the trunk release switch is pressed terminal D10 of the IPC is grounded through CKT 1576 (BLK). The IPC sends an class 2 serial data message to the body control module (PZM). The PZM grounds terminal C6 of the trunk lid release solenoid through CKT 1344 (LT BLU). Provided that the transaxle is in PARK position and the valet lockout switch is closed.

Power is supplied through the RADIO/PHONE fuse, CKT 40 and the coil of the trunk lid release relay to the now-grounded CKT 1344 (LT BLU). The relay coil energizes and closes the relay contacts.

Power is supplied from the CONVENC fuse through CKT 2G40 (ORN), the now-closed relay contacts, CKT 56 (BLK/WHT), and the trunk lid release solenoid. The solenoid energizes and the trunk lid latch assembly releases the trunk lid.
