HEATED WINDSHIELD

Heated Windshield System Diagram:

The system utilizes a special windshield with a conductive film sandwiched between the layers of windshield glass. The metal film in the windshield will block out some radio or microwave signals. Therefore, the heated windshield will reduce the useful range of devices such as garage door openers and radar detectors. (In certain states radar detectors are legal).

GENERATOR
The system is powered by a modified version of the vehicle's standard generator that has three special phase terminals to provide AC power to the system's power module.

HEATED WINDSHIELD POWER MODULE
The power module is located under the I/P above the brake pedal assembly. The power module converts the three phase AC voltage to a higher DC voltage for use by the windshield.

HEATED WINDSHIELD CONTROL MODULE
The control module is mounted forward of the right hand wheelhouse behind the front fender. This module controls the heating cycle. It provides automatic turn-off at the end of the time cycle or when other monitored system parameters indicate a problem during the operation of the system.
