Door Latch (Door Module)

DOOR LATCH (DOOR MODULE)






REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to "Door Trim Panel".
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to "Water Deflector".
3. Remove the following components from the latch/lock module:
^ The outside handle
^ The key cylinder lock rods
4. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the latch/lock module to the door.
5. Drill out the rivets retaining the window to the regulator sash. Refer to "Door Window".
6. Disconnect the wire harnesses from the following components:
^ The lock
^ The window motor
^ The door module
7. Remove the fasteners (4,5) securing the door module to the door.
8. Remove the door module (1) with the latch/lock module (3) connected by the linkage.






INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the door module (1) and latch/lock (3) to the door. Perform the following steps.
1.1. Hang the module on the studs.
1.2. Hand start the fasteners (5) securing the door module to the door.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fasteners that retain the latch to the door.

TIGHTEN
^ Fasteners (2) to 10 Nm (89 lb. in).






3. Tighten the fasteners in the proper sequence as shown in the illustration.

TIGHTEN
^ Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Connect the wiring harness.
5. Install the rivets retaining the window to the sash.
6. Install the following components to the latch.
^ The outside handle
^ The lock rods

7. Install the water deflector. Refer to "Water Deflector".
8. Install the trim panel. Refer to "Door Trim Panel".
