Headlamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the upper filler panel.
2. Remove the screw that retains the cornering lamp.
3. Remove the corner lamp sockets and the cornering lamp.
4. Remove the 2 nuts (3) retaining the headlamp (1) to the fender.
5. Remove the upper bolt (2) retaining the headlamp housing (1) to the rail.
6. Remove the lower bolt (4) retaining the headlamp housing (1) to the rail.
7. Disconnect the headlamp wiring harness connector.
8. Remove the headlamp housing (1).
9. Disconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connectors.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the headlamp bulb electrical connectors.
2. Position the headlamp housing (1) to the body.
3. Connect the headlamp wiring harness connector.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the upper bolt (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt (2) to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

5. Install the lower bolt (4).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt (4) to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

6. Install the 2 nuts (3) in order to secure the headlamp housing (1) to the fender.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts (3) to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

7. Install the cornering lamp sockets and the retaining screw.
Do not Tighten the screw.
8. Align the cornering lamp with the headlamp so that only 2 mm (5/64 in) is between the lamps.

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

9. Install the upper filler panel.
