No Interior Lights when Opening Unlocked Door in Low Light Conditions (Replace with new PZM)

This bulletin is being revised to add part information, artwork and labor time. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 83-82-06 (Section 8 - Chassis/Body Electrical).

Condition

Some customers may comment that the interior lights do not come on when opening a door in low light conditions, if the vehicle is not locked and the RKE transmitter or key cylinder is not activated prior to opening the door.

Cause

During electrical system wake-up, the Body Control Module (PZM) requires the photo cell data (ambient light) sooner than the Instrument Cluster (IPC) can provide it.

Correction





Replace with the new PZM (Figure 1, Item 6). This corrects the interior lighting issue by changing the software algorithm.
