Removal Procedure

1. Disable the frontal SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

Description:

2. Remove the radiator support cover. The inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor is located behind the hood hinge (1).
3. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (5) from the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor harness connector (4).

Description:

4. Disconnect the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor harness connector (4) from the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor (3).

Description:

5. Remove the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor mounting fasteners (2).
6. Remove the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor (3) from the radiator support.
