Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Throttle Body And Coolant Pipes:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the Throttle Body Assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement.

Description:

3. Remove the TP sensor electrical connector (6) from the TP sensor (7).

Description:

4. Remove the TP sensor mounting bolts (3) from the TP sensor (2).

5. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body.

6. Discard the O-ring.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Description:

1. Install the new O-ring on to the TP sensor.

2. Install the TP sensor (2) on to the throttle body.

^ Tighten the TP sensor screws to 2.3 N.m (20 lb. in).

Description:

3. Install the TP sensor electrical connector (6) to the TP sensor (7).

Throttle Body And Coolant Pipes:

4. Install the Throttle Body Assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement.

5. Install the negative battery cable.
