DOOR LATCH (DOOR MODULE)






REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to "Door Trim Panel".
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to "Water Deflector".
3. Remove the following components from the lock:
^ The outside handle.
^ The key cylinder lock rods.
4. Remove the 3 screws securing the lock to the door.

CAUTION: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the drivers door. When operated, the Express Down feature allows the door window to drop very quickly, which could cause personal injury.

5. Position the window in order to access the window sash bolts.
6. Remove the 3 sash to window bolts.
7. Disconnect the wire harnesses from the following components:
^ The lock.
^ The window motor.
^ The module (3).
8. Remove the following components:
^ The nuts (2).
^ The bolts (1).
9. Remove the door module (3).






INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the lock module (3) to the door. Perform the following steps:
A. Hang the module (3) on the studs.
B. Hand start the following components:
^ The nuts.
^ The bolts.
2. Install the 3 fasteners retaining the lock to the door.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.






3. Tighten the following components in the proper sequence as shown in the illustration:
A. The nuts.
B. The bolts.
C. TIGHTEN
^ Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Connect the wiring harness.
5. Install the window sash bolts.
6. Install the following components to the lock:
^ The outside handle.
^ The lock rods.
7. Install the water deflector. Refer to "Water Deflector".
8. Install the trim panel. Refer to "Door Trim Panel".
