Chart 1 No Compressor Operation

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

The compressor clutch coil is fed power through the A/C relay and is grounded through CKT 350.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

Before diagnosing make sure any DTCs are corrected and cleared. An open power steering switch or a faulty throttle position sensor could prevent A/C clutch from engaging.

1. Checks if the fault lies in the output or input side of the PCM.
2. Checks the A/C relay switch contacts.
3. Checks if the A/C relay is receiving power on CKT 2340.
4. Checks if there is an open in the compressor clutch power CKT 59.
5. Checks if the compressor clutch is faulty or if there is an open in the ground CKT 350.
6. Checks the A/C relay coil.
7. Checks if there is an open in CKT 603, CKT 604, or CKT 459.
