Instrument Panel Carrier Support Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the instrument panel.
2. Remove the 4 fasteners (2) retaining the center brace (3) to the tie bar (4) and the floor pan.
3. Remove the center brace (3).
4. Remove the 6 fasteners (1) retaining the tie bar (4) to the body.
Remove the tie bar (4).




5. Remove the fastener (1) retaining the tie bar bracket (2) to the body.
Remove the bracket (2).
6. Remove the parking brake assembly.




7. Remove the fasteners (2) retaining the reinforcement (1) to the body.
Remove the reinforcement (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the reinforcement (1) to the body.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the reinforcement fasteners (2).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).

3. Install the parking brake assembly.




4. Install the tie bar bracket (2) to the body.




Install the bracket fasteners (1).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).

5. Install the tie bar (4).
6. Install the 6 fasteners (1) in order to retain the tie bar to the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).

7. Install the center brace (3).
8. Install the 4 center brace fasteners (2).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).

9. Install the instrument panel.
