Steering Control Module: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Twist the self-locking screws to allow for the front of the sound insulator to drop down to remove the sound insulator.
Caution: This vehicle has a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs. To help avoid that: (1) Refer to SIR Component Views to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring. (2) If you are [performing service on or near SIR components or the SIR wiring], you must disable the SIR system, refer to Disabling the SIR System.
2. Remove the power steering control module (1) from the electrical connector.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the power steering control module (1) to the electrical connector.
2. Twist the self-locking screws to attach the sound insulator to the instrument panel to install the sound insulator.
