Dynamic Parameters

The IPC blanks the data portion of the following parameter displays prior to the receipt of valid data:
^ The instantaneous fuel economy
^ The average fuel economy
^ The fuel level
^ The outside air temperature
^ The coolant temperature
^ The oil life index
^ The range

The digital IPC displays all dashes (except the vehicle speed and the odometers) if the serial data line communications of all vehicle modules are determined to be lost. Selective dashing of the displays is indicative of an inability to communicate with only certain vehicle modules on the class 2 serial data line.

The analog IPC dashes all of the parameters. The analog IPC does not control the fuel level and the coolant temperature gauge if the serial data line communication of all microprocessors is determined to be lost. Selective dashing or inoperative gauges may indicate an inability to communicate with only certain microprocessors on the class 2 serial data line.
