A/T Shift Lock Control - Assemble

ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

- Tool Required
- J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture

- The column must be in the 12 o'clock position.

IMPORTANT: To align the steering shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position. Turn the key to the off/lock position. Pull the key out and turn the steering shaft until you hear a click.

- Install the solenoid bracket (2) onto the steering column jacket (3).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

- Install the 2 washer head screws (1).
- Tighten the screws to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).





- Install the interlock solenoid assembly (7).
- Install the ball joint spring (5).
- Install the hex washer head screw (6).
- Tighten the screw to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).

- Reconnect the ignition switch actuator assembly (4).





- Put the wire harness assembly into the wire harness strap (1).
- Turn the key to the on position to unlock the steering shaft.
- Remove the column from the J 41352.
