A/T Shift Lock Control - Disassemble

DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

- Tool Required
- J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture

1. The turn signal switch assembly must be in the "UP" position.

IMPORTANT: The column must be in the 12 o'clock position.

To align the steering shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position. Turn the key to the off/lock position. Pull the key out and turn the steering shaft until you hear a click.





2. Put the steering column in J 41352.
3. Pop the wire harness assembly out of the wire harness strap (1).
4. Check steering column for accident damage.





5. Disconnect the ignition switch actuator assembly (4).
6. Remove the hex washer head screw (6).
7. Remove the ball joint spring (5).
8. Remove the interlock solenoid assembly (7).
9. Remove the washer head screw (1).
10. Remove the solenoid bracket (2) from the steering column jacket (3).
