56. Lower Control Valve Body Disassemble
1. Remove the Low/Reverse servo piston retaining ring (932). Push on the Low/Reverse apply pin (931) to remove the servo assembly.
2. Remove the return spring (901) and remove the retaining ring (902). Push out the servo pin (931).
3. Remove the following:
- The servo cushion spring (934)
- The sleeve (980)
- The spring washer (933)
4. Inspect the piston (928) and inspect the seals (929, 930) for damage.
5. Remove the following parts:
- The spring retainer (904)
- The ball check capsule (905)
- The ball (979)
6. Inspect all parts for scratches, debris, and damage.
7. Remove the following parts:
- The coiled spring flag pin (923)
- The reverse orifice bypass valve spring (922)
- The reverse orifice bypass valve (921)
8. Inspect the valve for scratches or debris.
9. Remove the following parts:
- The retainer clip (308)
- The bore plug (914)
- The 3-4 shift valve (912)
- The 3-4 shift valve spring (911)
10. Inspect the valve for scratches or debris
11. Remove the following parts:
- The retainer clip (308)
- The 1-2 shift solenoid valve (909)
- The 1-2 B shift valve (920)
- The 1-2 A shift valve (919),
- The 1-2 shift valve spring (918)
12. Inspect the shift solenoid for damage.
13. Inspect the shift valve for scratches or debris.
14. Remove the solenoid screen assembly (917).
15. Inspect the screen assembly for excessive debris.
16. Remove the following parts:
- The retainer clip (308)
- The 2-3 shift solenoid valve (909)
- The 2-3 D shift valve (908)
- The 2-3 C shift valve (907)
- The 2-3 shift valve spring (906)
17. Inspect the shift solenoid valve for damage.
18. Inspect the shift valve for scratches or debris.
19. Remove the following parts:
- The coiled spring flag pin (926)
- The forward orifice bypass valve spring (925)
- The forward orifice bypass valve (924)
20. Inspect the valve for scratches or debris.
21. Remove the manual link and clip assembly (915) and remove the manual valve (916).
22. Inspect the valve for scratches or debris.
