Doors: Service Precautions

All of the door hardware production attaching screws contain an epoxy thread-locking compound in order to ensure that the minimum original torque setting is maintained. The service attaching screws may not contain a thread-locking compound. Treat the threads of the fasteners using LOCTITE(R) 75 GM PIN 1052279 or the equivalent, for the following reasons:
^ In order to prevent loosening of the service screws
^ In order to renew the thread-locking characteristics of production screws

LOCTITE(R) 75 GM P/N 1052279 is a two-part material that is applied to the hardware as a liquid. After installation and tightening, the adhesive cures in order to perform the following functions:
^ Bond the attachment
^ Prevent loosening of the screws
^ Prevent backing out of the screws

The adhesive bond does not prevent future removal. You may use LOCTITE(R) 75 GM P/N 1052279 or the equivalent on any threaded fastener.
