Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake air duct (1) clamp (5) from the MAF sensor (4).




2. Lift the air cleaner element assembly (1) off of the air inlet assembly (2) locating pins.
3. Slide the air cleaner element assembly (1) toward the fender to unseat the locating tab of the air cleaner element assembly (1) from the slot of the air inlet assembly (2).

Air Cleaner Housing With Intake Air Temperature Sensor:

4. Remove or disconnect the IAT sensor.
5. Remove the air cleaner element.
6. Remove the air cleaner element assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the air cleaner element.
2. Ensure the rubber locating grommets are secure in the bottom of the air cleaner element assembly (1).
3. Slide locating tab on bottom of the air cleaner element assembly (1) down into the slot on the top of air inlet assembly (2).
4. Press the air cleaner element assembly (1) down onto the locating pins ensuring the locating grommets are secure in the bottom of the air cleaner element assembly (1).

Air Cleaner Housing With Intake Air Temperature Sensor:

5. Install or connect the Intake Air Temperature sensor.

Note: Refer to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




6. Install the intake air duct (1) to the MAF sensor (4).

Tighten
Tighten the clamp (5) assembly to 3.5 Nm (31 lb in).
