CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is one of the window switches that is mounted locally in one of the passenger doors. The passenger front door module (PFDM), left rear door module (LRDM), and right rear door module (RRDM) each have a window switch that is wired to its associated door module. Each module contains a microprocessor which takes the ground signals generated by its switch, processes them, and then determines a course of action. If conditions are correct for window movement to take place, the appropriate door module then supplies battery voltage and ground to the appropriate window motor circuits to move the window Up or Down.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The PFDM, LRDM, and the RRDM must be powered and cannot have codes B1327-Battery Voltage Low or B1328 Battery Voltage High set for this DTC to set.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
If the PFDM, LRDM, or RRDM, receives a message indicating that a window switch Up contact is grounded for more than 15 continuous Seconds, the DTC will set.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN DTC SETS
If the DTC is current, the PFDM, LRDM, or RRDM will ignore both the UP and Down inputs from the failed switch until the input is no longer detected.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE MIL/DTC
The PFDM, LRDM, or RRDM clears the DTC when the input is not detected for 50 Seconds, or, when the ignition is cycled from OFF to RUN
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
A sticking switch can cause this DTC to set.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. Checks the existing state of the power window switch by using the current state of the input parameter.
