CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The switch that tailed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is part of the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). The DDSA contains a microprocessor which takes the ground signal generated by this switch and assigns a digital message to it. The DDSA sends this message over the Serial Data Class 2 line to the left rear door module (LRDM) and the right rear door module (RRDM) to prohibit window operation from the two rear door window switches.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
With the ignition switch ON, the DDSA checks the switch inputs every 3 Seconds regardless of source voltage.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
If the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) receives the message that the switch is grounded for more than 30 continuous Seconds, the DDSA sets this DTC.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN DTC SETS
The DDSA ignores inputs from the window lockout switch.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DIC
^ The DDSA clears the current code when it no longer receives inputs from the lockout switch.
^ Use the scan tool in order to clear the history code.
^ Use the On-Board diagnostics to clear the history code.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
A sticking switch can cause this DTC to set.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. Checks the existing state of the window lockout switch on the driver door switch assembly by using the current state of the input parameter.
