Console Replacement - Front Floor (DTS)




REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Service Precautions Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable air bag system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Remove the left console trim panel.
4. Remove the right console trim panel.
5. Remove the console center trim plate.
6. Remove the IF center compartment.
7. Remove the transmission shift cable from the floor shift. Shift Cable Replacement in Transmission/Transaxle.
8. Remove the left knee bolster.
9. Remove the right knee bolster.
10. Remove the four console fasteners (1) to the IP.
11. Adjust the front seats rearward.
12. Remove the two front console to floor fasteners (2).
13. Adjust the front seats forward.
14. Remove the two rear console to floor fasteners (2).
15. Move the console rearward, in order to access the electrical connectors.
16. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
17. Remove the front floor console.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the front floor console to the vehicle.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Align the locating pins on the floor console to the IF
4. Install the two upper console to IF fasteners (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the two lower console to IF fasteners (2).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Adjust the front seats to the forward position.
7. Install the two rear console to floor fasteners (4).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

8. Adjust the front seats to the rear position.
9. Install the two front console to floor fasteners (3).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

10. Install the transmission shift cable to the floor shift. Shift Cable Replacement in Transmission Transaxle.
11. Install the IF center compartment.
12. Install the console center trim plate.
13. Install the right knee bolster.
14. Install the left knee bolster.
15. Install both the left and the right console trim plates.
16. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
