Oil Line: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the upper filler panel. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Upper.
2. Disconnect the upper engine oil cooler line from the radiator.
3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Air Deflector Replacement - Front.
4. Remove the engine oil cooler line retaining bolt and retainer from the fan shroud.
5. Disconnect the lower engine oil cooler line from the radiator.
Important: Engine oil cooler quick connect fittings must be replaced whenever they are removed from the engine oil filter adapter.
6. Remove the engine oil cooler quick connect fittings from the engine oil filter adapter, with the oil lines still attached.
7. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the vehicle.
8. Slide the plastic cap off the quick connect joint.
9. Remove the internal spring clips from the engine oil cooler fittings.
10. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the cooler fittings.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Important: Engine oil cooler quick connect fittings must be replaced whenever they are removed from the engine oil filter adapter.
1. Install the new engine oil cooler quick connect fittings to the engine oil filter adapter.
Tighten the quick connect fittings to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
2. Push the engine oil cooler lines fully into the new engine oil cooler quick connect fittings, until a "click" is heard.
3. Tug gently on the cooler lines to ensure proper retention.
4. Slide the plastic cap over the quick connect joint.
5. Install the lower engine oil cooler line to the radiator.
Tighten the engine oil cooler line to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the engine oil cooler line retaining clip and bolt to the fan shroud.
Tighten the engine oil cooler line retaining bolt to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Air Deflector Replacement - Front.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Connect the upper engine oil cooler line to the radiator.
Tighten the engine oil cooler line to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
10. Install the upper filler panel. Refer to Fitter Panel Replacement - Upper.
11. Check the engine oil level.
