22. Secondary Camshaft Drive Chain Removal - Right






1. Remove the right secondary drive chain tensioner bolts.
2. Remove the right secondary drive tensioner allowing it to expand as you remove it.





3. Remove the chain guide access plugs located in the cylinder heads. Note the O-ring seal on each access plug.





4. Remove the camshaft position sensor bolt and sensor (1).





5. Remove the camshaft sprocket bolts from the camshafts. Use an open wrench on the hex cast near the front of each camshaft to prevent engine rotation when loosening the camshaft sprocket bolts.
6. Lift the secondary chain from the sprocket teeth and slide the camshaft sprockets off of the camshafts and store in a clean location.





7. Remove the upper bolt from the upper secondary chain guide for the right cylinder head.





8. Remove the right secondary chain guide bolts and guide.





9. Remove the right secondary chain tensioner shoe bolt and shoe.
