Security

The SECURITY indicator may be ON during any power mode except for START. The IPC illuminates the SECURITY indicator under the following conditions:
^ During the bulb check.
^ The theft deterrent module or rear integration module (RIM) sends a class 2 serial data message requesting illumination due to a concern in the theft deterrent system.
^ Following a transition to OFF, the IPC will illuminate the indicator for 10 minutes or until the IPC receives a class 2 serial data message to turn OFF the indicator. At 10 minutes, the IPC will request the status of the theft deterrent system and will only continue to illuminate the indicator if requested via class 2 serial data message.
^ The IPC detects a loss of communications with the theft deterrent module or RIM.
