Courtesy Lamps

The courtesy lamps can be manually turned on or off by placing the interior lamp switch in the ON or OFF position. When the interior lamp switch is in the AUTO position, the ambient light sensor indicates nighttime conditions, and a door is opened, all courtesy lamps turn on. After all doors are closed, the courtesy lamps will remain on for approximately 25 seconds. The courtesy lamps will dim to off, if the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, or an all door lock command is received with all doors closed.

When the interior lamp switch is in the AUTO position, the ambient light sensor indicates nighttime conditions, and the keyless entry transmitter is used to unlock the vehicle, all courtesy lamps turn on for approximately 40 seconds. The courtesy lamps will dim to off, if the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, or an all door lock command is received with all doors closed. After deployment of the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR), all courtesy lamps will light after an approximately 15 second delay period. After SIR deployment, the courtesy lamps will only be deactivated when the ignition switch is removed from the ON position.
