Air Cleaner Element

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector.
2. Loosen the clamp connecting the intake air duct to the throttle body.
3. Disconnect the intake air from the throttle body.
4. Disengage both air cleaner cover latches.
5. Remove the air cleaner cover.

Important: Inspect the air cleaner housing assembly for damage. If a problem is found, replace as necessary.

6. Remove the air filter element.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the new air cleaner element.
2. Install the air cleaner housing cover.
3. Engage the two latches connecting the cover to the air cleaner base.
4. Inspect to be sure that both latches secured properly.

Note: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the intake air duct to the throttle body.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp assembly to 3 Nm (27 lb in).

6. Connect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector.
