Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU)

The VIU voltage is supplied through the BATT feed circuit. The VIU is grounded to G203. The VIU is capable of controlling the Systems when commanded to do so by the Three button assembly or the OnStar� Call Center.

The VIU controls the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module, locks, horn, communicates with the radio, theft alarm and the headlamps through class 2 communications. The OnStar(R) audio is played through the radio on the Mono Audio signal circuit and the Mono Audio common circuit. The global position system (GPS) antenna is connected to the VIU.
