APPLY BRAKE TO SHIFT
The Brake Transaxle Shift Interlock (BTSI) system requires that you press the brake pedal in order to move the gear selector from the PARK position. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the BTSI switch and the Park Neutral Position (PNP) switch. The PCM sends the position of the 2 switches to the IPC through a class 2 serial data line. If' the gear selector is in PARK and the brake pedal is not pressed, the IPC displays this message.Once this message displays, the message continues to display until one of the following actions is completed:
^ You apply the brake.
^ You press the INFO button.
^ You press the INFO RESET button. The message has a minimum display time of 3 seconds regardless of the brake position.
