START CAR

The IPC displays the START CAR message following the 3 minute wait sequence that results when DTC B2780 sets. The message informs the driver to attempt again after waiting 3 minutes, determining if the PCM senses a questionable key. A malfunctioning steering column lock cylinder may cause the same condition. The message displays for 15 seconds, or a minimum of 3 seconds following an ignition switch transition to the RUN position.
