COMPRESSOR HOSE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39500-B A/C Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging (ACR4) System




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the compressor suction hose from the accumulator.
4. Remove the compressor discharge hose (1) from the condenser.
5. Remove the A/C compressor.




6. Remove the compressor hose assembly (1) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Electronic Halogen Leak Detector




1. Install the compressor hose assembly (1) to the vehicle.
2. Install the A/C compressor.




3. Install the compressor splash shield (2) and retainers (1).
4. Lower the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




5. Install the compressor hose to the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the discharge hose at the condenser to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the hose at the accumulator to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

7. Install the air cleaner assembly.
8. Inspect and refill the engine oil level.
9. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
10. Leak test the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing.
