Positive: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Remove the intake manifold.
3. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the starter.
4. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.
5. Remove the bolt attaching the cable harness retainer to the body rail.
6. Remove the air deflector.
7. Disconnect the cable harness clip (5) from the camshaft cover.
8. Disconnect the positive battery cable (4) from the generator.
9. Remove the bolts (3) attaching the cable harness clips to the engine frame.
10. Disconnect the positive battery cable (1) from the underhood fuse block
11. Remove the positive battery cable from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Place the positive battery cable into the cable harness clips along the engine frame.
Tighten
Tighten the cable harness clip retaining bolts (3) to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
2. Connect the positive battery cable (1) to the underhood fuse block.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
3. Connect the positive battery cable (4) to the generator.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
4. Install the air deflector.
5. Connect the cable harness clip (5) to the camshaft cover.
6. Install the bolt attaching the cable harness retainer to the body rail.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
7. Connect the positive battery cable to the battery.
Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
8. Connect the battery cable to the starter.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 8 N.m (71 lb ft).
9. Install the intake manifold.
10. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
