Hood: Adjustments




Hood Adjustment

* Fore-aft adjustment may be made by moving the hood within the elongated hinge holes (two on each side).
* Vertical adjustment at the front may be made by adjusting the primary hood latch/pilot pin up or down.

Fore-Aft Adjustment Procedure

1. Raise the hood.
2. Support the hood.
3. Disconnect the hood struts from the upper ball studs.
4. Loosen the hinge bolts.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Adjust the hood gap clearances until flush at position (1) and position (2).

Tighten the hinge bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

6. Install the hood struts to the upper ball studs.
7. Remove the hood support.
8. Lower the hood.

Vertical Adjustment Procedure

1. Raise the hood.
2. Back off the primary hood latch/pilot pin lock nut.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Adjust the length of the primary hood latch/pilot pin until hood front clearances are flush.

Tighten the primary hood latch/pilot pin lock nut to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).

4. Lower the hood.
